About Fremantle Bowling Club

Fremantle Bowling Club has played on the same patch of Fremantle Park since 1896, and these days it sits in a two-storey centre shared with the neighbouring tennis and workers clubs. The site has an eight-rink synthetic green filled with sand and fitted with lights for evening play, alongside two grass greens. Social bowls is open to the public, and the club welcomes corporate groups and barefoot bowling parties, mostly through the warmer months. Groups arrange a time with the club in advance. Club bowls are available to borrow, the rules are explained before play begins, and experienced members are happy to help first-timers find their line. Inside, the downstairs bar has full-height windows facing the play, and the upstairs bar opens onto balconies above it. For a bigger occasion, the hall takes about 190 guests and the more intimate bar lounge about 60, with onsite caterers available for functions. The club is close to the Fremantle town hall, the cappuccino strip and the city's train and bus services, and there is parking for function guests.
