About Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is a not-for-profit wildlife park and hospital on Tomewin Street in Currumbin. A day here covers kangaroos, koalas, lemurs and capybaras, plus Croc Wetlands, where American alligators and freshwater crocodiles share a precinct with a very large saltwater crocodile called Boss Hog. Money spent here goes back into wildlife care and conservation. There are two ways to bring a crowd. Groups of 20 or more can make a group booking for a sanctuary visit, which must be paid for at least 5 business days ahead. For a celebration or work function, the sanctuary offers indoor and outdoor event spaces for weddings, birthdays and corporate occasions. Send an enquiry with your numbers and date to hear which spaces suit. Extras can shape the day around your group. The TreeTop Challenge has more than 100 aerial obstacles for anyone wanting a physical test, and animal encounters put guests close to a chosen species, with pre-booking advised because places are limited. Breakfast With Koalas brings a morning alongside the keepers, and Koalas by Twilight pairs close koala time with an arrival drink and canapés. At night, Astra Lumina turns the bushland into an illuminated walking trail of light and sound. It runs on Fridays and Saturdays, with extra nights in the school holidays, though the inclines rule out wheelchairs and some effects strobe. A small group of exactly four can also book a private behind-the-scenes hospital tour with all-day entry included.
