About Gold Coast Rainforest Tours
Gold Coast Rainforest Tours runs small guided nature outings into the hinterland, collecting guests from Surfers Paradise and most surrounding suburbs. Trips travel by 4WD or van, and public tours stay small. A group can also book a private tour and have the guide to itself. The Rainforest and Waterfalls Experience makes more than 6 stops around Springbrook National Park, with a packed lunch at one of the falls and a chance to swim at another. Only a low level of fitness is needed. The kangaroo and koala tour is a gentler walk through conserved wetland, where the animals roam free and sightings depend on them. The night tour heads down into a rainforest valley to see glow worms, looking out for other wildlife on the way, and takes 3 to 3.5 hours in all. Some of these outings can be combined on the same day for a longer adventure. Entry fees are included on every trip, and larger groups and flexible itineraries are available on request. Send an enquiry with your date, numbers and pick-up point, and mention any dietary needs at the same time.

Frequently asked questions
Can we book a tour just for our own group?
Yes. The booking form offers a private tour for your own group or family, and private tours take up to 7 people, with larger groups on request. Public small group tours mix guests and cap at 9 or 10 people.
How much do the tours cost?
Small group tours start from $99 a person and run to $199 for the combined day and night tour. Private tours vary by itinerary, starting at about $390 for kangaroos and koalas and $790 for rainforest and waterfalls.
How fit do we need to be?
The rainforest and waterfall day only asks for a low level of fitness, with varied walking distances between its 6 or more stops. The guides also say they are happy to share knowledge, or leave you to enjoy the walk in peace.
Is food included, and what should we bring?
A packed lunch is provided on the rainforest and waterfall day, and dietary needs can be noted when you book. Bring your own water bottle for refills, as the operator avoids disposable bottles, and a raincoat in the wetter months.
Where do tours pick up from?
The guide collects you from your door in Surfers Paradise and most suburbs around it. Departure times vary by tour, from early morning for wildlife walks to late afternoon for the glow worm outing, so include your address when you enquire.
