About Burleigh Heads Bowls Club
Burleigh Heads Bowls Club has been a community club on Connor Street since 1937. Its three greens, one of them half synthetic, sit beside an air-conditioned clubhouse with a bar and the Fusion 88 Bistro. The club hosts staff parties, Christmas parties, birthdays, engagement parties and weddings. There is no private function room, so groups share the clubhouse and greens with other guests, which suits a casual get-together better than a closed-door event. Barefoot bowls is the usual centrepiece. Function sessions run from 5pm to 8pm Tuesday to Friday, with extra sessions on Saturday afternoons and Sundays, and flat shoes or bare feet are required on the green. The bistro prepares platters for groups, each feeding about five or six people. Choices include seafood, Asian bites, sandwiches, antipasto, sushi and a gluten-free skewer platter. Drinks can go on a bar tab with a $300 minimum, either prepaid or set up on the day. As the club is fully catered and licensed, outside food and drinks are not allowed, apart from a speciality cake arranged in advance. You are welcome to decorate, with early set-up organised at least three days ahead. Note the club does not host 18th, 19th, 20th or 21st birthdays. Guests sign in at reception with photo ID or a reciprocal club card, and live entertainment plays inside on Saturday nights.

Great place to casually hang out for a beer with friends. Mostly suitable to Seniors. Dinner is available here although I wouldn’t rate it that high. Basic meals and basic flavours!
