Wedding Reception Venues in Broadbeach

Choosing the Right Wedding Reception Venue

Choosing a Broadbeach reception means choosing between two surf clubs that run weddings very differently. Ocean View Room @ Broadbeach Surf Life Saving Club leaves the menu in your hands, while Kurrawa Surf Club Beachfront Functions caters everything itself.

Couples comparing the pair should start with these differences:

Guest list: the Ocean View Room seats 120 with the dance floor in place, while the Kurrawa room seats 70 on the same terms.
Catering: a chosen caterer can work from the commercial kitchen at the Broadbeach club, whereas Kurrawa allows no BYO food.
Cost: Kurrawa Surf Club Beachfront Functions lists From $715 room hire, and the Ocean View Room is quoted once you give a date and numbers.
Outlook: Kurrawa has floor-to-ceiling glass and a wrap-around balcony along the beach, and the Ocean View Room faces the ocean on one side and parkland on the other.
Drinks: both clubs supply these from their own bar, so neither reception suits bringing your own wine.

Neither listing describes a ceremony setup, so raise that with each club if you hope to marry on site.

A banquet takes 84, and cabaret tables suit 80 if you prefer smaller groupings.
Table linen and the ceiling fairy lights come with room hire, and balcony heaters and lawn games are add-ons.
The five-hour booking ends by 11.30pm at the latest, with music off at 11pm.
Menus range from walk-around small bites to buffets of up to three hot items, with vegan and gluten-free options.

Questions for the Ocean View Room wedding day

Ask what the room hire costs for your date, since no price is published for it.
Confirm how many hours you get and when music must stop, as neither is set out in its details.
Check how your caterer will use the commercial kitchen, including setting up and packing down.
Plan speeches and photo slideshows around the included sound system, drop-down screen and data projection.
