About The Hourglass House
The Hourglass House is a Brisbane wedding and event studio led by founder and creative director Dorothea Legaspi, with a team of planners, designers and stylists behind her. Its work spans weddings and milestone birthdays as well as baby showers, gala dinners and brand events, and it keeps the calendar small so each booking gets the whole team. Bookings come in three tiers. Essence covers creative direction, visual structure and styling support on the day for hosts whose planning is already moving. Elite joins planning, design and styling for up to 180 guests at one or two venues, adding vendor shortlisting, budget tracking, monthly updates, run sheets and coordination until the formalities. Exclusive treats larger events as a full production, with the studio looking after venue, suppliers, guests, design and timeline. Each project moves from a vision stage through sourcing and budgets, design development of palette, tablescapes, lighting and florals, and final run sheets with supplier briefings. On the day the team arrives before anyone else to manage supplier arrivals, direct the styling and hand the room over ready. Add-ons include engagement parties, rehearsal dinners, recovery brunches, bridal showers and micro events of up to 50 guests. Send an enquiry with your date, location and the feel you are after.

How We Work
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between The Hourglass House's three tiers?
Essence is design and styling direction for hosts already planning, Elite adds planning, budgets, run sheets and coordination, and Exclusive runs larger events as a full production covering venue, suppliers, guests and timeline.
Are supplier costs included in the studio fee?
No. The studio fee pays for planning, design, styling direction and coordination only. Photographers, caterers, florists, hire companies, lighting and stationery each quote their own costs separately.
How far ahead should we book The Hourglass House?
The studio suggests 12 to 18 months ahead for Elite and Exclusive bookings. Essence can often be booked with eight months' notice or less, depending on availability.
Does The Hourglass House plan events other than weddings?
Yes. Beyond weddings, the studio plans milestone birthdays, baby showers, gala dinners and brand events, and offers engagement parties, bridal showers, rehearsal dinners and micro events of up to 50 guests as add-ons.
How are payments handled?
Half the fee is paid as a deposit to hold the date. The rest is paid in two parts, the second of them a month ahead of the celebration. Each tier can also be tailored into a custom proposal.
