About Pianta Strings

Pianta Strings is a collective of Brisbane-based chamber musicians who perform as a string quartet or as a smaller duo. The players trained at Australian music institutions and also work as teachers, session players, composers and arrangers, and they met through university, youth music camps and community orchestras. For weddings, the ceremony package covers around 15 minutes of music while guests arrive, the processional, bridal entry, signing and exit, then half an hour of music once the vows are done. One song chosen by the couple is arranged specially for the players. A fuller wedding package running about three hours is also listed for couples who want strings into the reception. Private events such as intimate dinners, proposals and engagement parties are booked by the hour, as are conference breaks, networking sessions and formal dinners. Sets come with 15-minute breaks, and the repertoire runs from Canon in D and Gymnopédie to jazz standards, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran and songs from Disney films. Duo line-ups pair violin and cello, or violin or cello with piano or keyboard, and cost less than the full quartet. A PA system can be added for louder rooms or outdoor settings.
