About The Polaroids
The Polaroids are a covers band made up of Brisbane musicians, playing corporate events, weddings and private functions. The show is planned around the stages of the night: laid-back, funky sets while people eat, then dance floor numbers when the speeches are done. The repertoire is several hundred songs deep, reaching back to the 60s and 70s and forward to the current charts. The band will fit in your requests where it can, and playing your first dance live is an option at a wedding. For corporate work, the band is used to complicated run sheets and will shift around speeches and presentations. It can back up your theme or message through costuming, song choices and mentions from the stage, or by performing a jingle or theme song. A jazz trio can look after cocktails and canapés beforehand, and a larger band can take over later in the evening. Line-ups range from a duo to 10 musicians. Standard sound and lighting is part of the band's set-up, and custom production can be added for a bigger look. At weddings, the band works with you or your planner on timings and technical needs, an acoustic guitar and vocal duo can play the ceremony, and a wireless microphone can run through the band's system for your MC and speeches. The band welcomes every couple and is an open supporter of the LGBTIQ+ community. Send an enquiry with your date and location to get started.

Frequently asked questions
How big is The Polaroids band?
It depends on the event. The band can work as an acoustic duo or a jazz trio for smaller moments, and it can grow to as many as 10 musicians for a big finish to the evening.
What songs do The Polaroids play?
The set list holds hundreds of covers, from 60s and 70s classics to the songs of today. Dinner sets stay relaxed and funky, and the dance floor numbers start once the formalities are over.
Can the band help with our corporate event theme?
Yes. Costumes, particular repertoire, mentions from the stage and audience engagement can all be worked in, and the band can even perform a jingle or theme song live on the night.
Can The Polaroids play our wedding ceremony as well?
Yes. A duo of acoustic guitar and vocals can play during the ceremony, including your chosen song for the aisle. The full band then takes over for the reception sets later on.
Do we need to hire a microphone for wedding speeches?
No separate hire is needed. Let the band know ahead of time and a wireless microphone will be set up through its speaker system, ready for your MC and anyone giving a speech.
