About Noosa Woody Hire
Noosa Woody Hire offers one very particular car: a 1946 Ford Woody wagon whose timber-panelled body dates from a time when steel was scarce after the war. The business is run by a Noosa family who grew up around the main beach and bought the car after years of watching it cruise around town. The Woody has had quite a life. It worked as a taxi in South America, was found abandoned and shipped to Australia in the 1990s, then spent years parked outside a Hastings Street surf shop. Two restorations followed, the second giving it the black paint, red wheels and a Ford Windsor V8 that keeps it running smoothly. The car is hired with a chauffeur for weddings, school formals, corporate functions and other special events, and it is licensed for passenger hire. The team covers Noosa and the rest of the Sunshine Coast, from beach ceremonies on the Noosa Spit to hinterland and Maroochydore venues, and works in partnership with a local Noosa limousine business. Bookings are secured with a deposit, with the balance paid four weeks before the date. There is no eating, drinking or smoking in the car, which keeps the restored interior in shape for every couple.
