About Spirit House Cooking School
Spirit House Cooking School sits inside the grounds of the Spirit House restaurant on Ninderry Road at Yandina, a garden setting of tropical plants, pagodas and a still lagoon. The school runs hands-on Asian cooking classes for confident cooks and beginners alike, taught by the Spirit House chefs. Each class runs for about four hours. Day classes start at 9.30am and evening classes at 4.30pm, with themes that change across the calendar, from Thai seafood and the art of Thai curries to wok cooking, Vietnamese flavours, Indonesian dishes and an Asian barbecue masterclass. When the cooking is done, everyone sits down to lunch or dinner made from the recipes, with complimentary wine and beer. The school supplies aprons, knives and utensils, and closed-in shoes are a must around the knives and hot liquids. Some classes are gluten free or seafood free. Keen cooks aged over 12 are welcome, but babies and strollers are not. The class calendar also sets dates aside as private classes, and the restaurant and Hong Sa Bar host private functions as well. Send an enquiry to ask about a class for your group.
