Choosing the Right School Formal Venue

For school formal committees in the south, Waterside Events in Currumbin is the venue with a package written for the job. Schools elsewhere in the region should weigh it on room size and package contents, rather than looking at it as a local hall.

Measuring your school against the Currumbin rooms:

A large cohort can use the main room, for up to 400.
A smaller year group can take one of three divided rooms.
The package covers venue hire, a set menu and a DJ.
A party executive works with the organiser on the night.
Presentation nights and graduations have packages too, which helps schools planning more than one event.

Southern Gold Coast School Formal Venues

Knowing the cohort early tells you if the whole room or one section suits.
The dance floor is part of the main room, so ask how it works in a divided room.
The first-floor balcony faces the estuary, which could be a nice setting for group shots if the venue allows.
Finger food through to buffets are on the general menu list, so ask what the formal set menu contains.

What southern schools should compare in the quote

Ask for a per-student figure that includes hire, meal and DJ.
Ask how vegetarian and vegan needs are covered.
Ask about supervision, arrival times and pick-up points.
Ask what presentation equipment comes with the room, such as the microphone and screen.
