About Light Up Letters
Light Up Letters is a Gold Coast hire business built around one striking idea: oversized illuminated characters that turn a name, an age or a phrase into the centrepiece of the room. Its warehouse is at Burleigh Heads, and the range covers A to Z, 0 to 9 and symbols such as a hashtag, a question mark and a heart. There are two heights to choose from. The 1.2 metre letters weigh under 23 kilograms each and are light enough to collect yourself, while the 1.5 metre characters need a larger vehicle and two crew, so those are delivered and installed by the team. Popular choices include MR & MRS, MR & MR, MRS & MRS, I DO, LOVE and FOREVER for weddings and engagements, milestone numbers such as 18, 21, 30 and 40 for birthdays and anniversaries, and BOY or GIRL for baby showers. Businesses also hire custom words to show a brand name at a conference or company function. Each set is controlled by remote from up to 30 metres away. You can pick from thousands of colours, dim the globes, select a warm or cool white, or change to a moving colour pattern once the dancing starts. The letters are freestanding and need one 240 volt power outlet. They are not waterproof, so an outdoor booking needs a covered fallback if rain arrives.

Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to hire a light up letter?
A 1.2 metre letter or number is $125 and a 1.5 metre character is $200, both including GST and for a 24-hour rental. Two-digit birthday numbers in the 1.2 metre size come to $250.
Can I pick the letters up myself?
Yes, the 1.2 metre range can be collected at no charge from the Burleigh Heads warehouse on weekdays. The 1.5 metre characters take a large vehicle and two crew, so they are always delivered and installed.
What does delivery cost?
Delivery with installation and removal starts at $55 for up to four 1.2 metre letters within 50 kilometres of Burleigh Heads, and at $110 for 1.5 metre letters. The final fee is confirmed when you book.
Can the letters change colour?
Yes, the globes are colour-changing LEDs run from a remote that works from as far as 30 metres away. You can choose a colour, adjust the white from cool to warm, dim them fully or run a moving pattern.
Can light up letters be used outdoors?
They can stand outside in fine weather, but they are not waterproof and can be damaged if left out in the rain. If the weather turns, they need to move indoors or under cover, so plan a sheltered option.
