Booking a Balloon Flight

Ballooning is not tied to one central suburb, even though Balloon Aloft Gold Coast runs its operation from Molendinar. Launch and landing sites vary around the region, so a group's real choices are the package, the morning and how to get everyone to the meeting point.

Questions that matter for a group from the central suburbs:

Standard packages include return transfers between Southport and Broadbeach, so check where your group should meet.
Guests staying elsewhere can meet the bus at The Star in Broadbeach.
Weather decides the route, which may take in the coastal skyline, the hinterland or sometimes both.
The roomiest basket carries up to 24 passengers with the pilot, so a sizeable group can share a flight.
Pricing starts from $345 per person, a figure to weigh against a room-hire party for a birthday.

Early starts are built in, as flights leave in the calm of the morning.
Non-flyers need not miss out, since friends can join the champagne buffet breakfast at The Star.
Digital flight photos come with the standard package, so nobody has to play photographer.
Group bookings of four or more carry their own change and cancellation terms, so read those early.

Lead times and add-ons from Molendinar

Two weeks' notice is suggested for a large group or a weekend flight.
Commercially licensed pilots fly every balloon.
Packages can pair the flight with a jetboat ride.
A jet ski safari to South Stradbroke Island is another combination on offer.
