Everything to Know About Paint & Sip

Across Brisbane's Inner North, the listed paint and sip option is Bienarté, an art school in Northgate that opens its studio to private groups. Sessions use watercolour and are pitched at beginners, so nobody needs to have painted before.

Because the tutors can also bring the class to a workplace, the studio's suburb matters less than it would for most outings.

Weighing up a watercolour session in the Inner North:

Bienarté is based at its own studio in Northgate, which is air-conditioned and lined with student and tutor work.
Teams who would rather stay put can have the tutors set up at the office instead.
A demonstration opens each session, then guests paint their own piece freehand or with a stencil.
Paints, quality paper and an A5 frame for every finished work are supplied.
Drinks and nibbles are BYO, with glassware provided at the studio.

Pricing is listed as from $650 per group.

The studio suits a group that wants to leave the office and walk past a gallery on the way in.
An office session saves travel for a team spread across the north side.
Ask whether glassware comes with an off-site booking, as it is listed for studio events.
Check how much table space the tutors need when the class comes to you.

Timing a team or Christmas paint session

Bienarté lists corporate events, team building and Christmas parties among its bookings.
Corporate groups need to book at least two weeks ahead.
Final guest numbers are due the day before the session.
Both small and large groups are taken, so confirm the exact count when you enquire.
