About Prison Island Gold Coast
Prison Island Gold Coast is an indoor action game on Cavill Avenue in Surfers Paradise. Small teams move through a prison-themed floor of 39 cells, each holding its own task. Some test speed or balance, others logic or teamwork, and games like whack-a-mole sit alongside brain teasers. Unlike an escape room with a single storyline, the order is up to you. Teams choose their cells, try again when they fail and collect between 25 and 100 points per challenge. Big screens show the rankings, and the overall timer keeps running. The venue can run 32 teams of two to five at once, so a large group simply splits up. Groups under 20 buy tickets in the usual way, and larger groups use a dedicated enquiry form. Choose 60 to 120 minutes of play, and group outings usually run for around 90. There are options for birthday parties of all ages, bucks and hens groups, team-building days and school or family outings. Guests aged 7 and over can take part, and under-14s need an adult with them. Birthday groups receive a free ticket for the accompanying adult, and the bride or groom plays free. Reception has a bar, plenty of seating and lockers, with snacks and drinks to buy. Wear comfortable closed shoes, as open footwear and heels are not allowed. Send an enquiry with your numbers and preferred date.

Frequently asked questions
How does Prison Island differ from an escape room?
There is no single scenario. Teams roam freely through 39 cells, picking which challenges to try and repeating them as often as they like, earning 25 to 100 points for each one while the overall timer runs.
How big can our group be?
Up to 32 teams of two to five can play at the same time. Groups under 20 buy tickets in the standard way, while groups of 20 or more send their details through the group enquiry form.
What is the minimum age?
Players must be at least 7. Anyone under 14 needs an adult with them, and a team without an adult must have every member aged 14 or over, so plan teams accordingly for a younger party.
What should we wear?
Comfortable clothes for light physical activity, such as a t-shirt with sneakers. Heels, thongs and other open shoes are not allowed, so anyone heading out afterwards should bring a change of footwear.
Is there parking at the venue?
There is no parking at the venue, and arriving by car is not recommended, although private car parks are in the surrounding area. Plan to get there 20 minutes before your start for the briefing.
