About Ryan Black Celebrant & MC
Ryan Black is a wedding MC and marriage celebrant who lives in Nerang and calls the Gold Coast home. Mates nicknamed him The Wordsmith after he spent years hosting their weddings, and his earlier working life as a flight attendant, restaurant manager and trainer taught him how to keep a room calm and on side. His MC work comes as part of a combined package, so one person looks after both halves of the day. Before the wedding he talks through how the reception should flow and helps put the run sheet together. On the day he guides guests between the ceremony and the reception, liaises with your vendors and takes on all MC duties until 8:30pm. The ceremony side is included too. It covers an initial consultation, the legal paperwork and its lodgement, a script written from scratch for you, a vow consultation, a PA with bluetooth, and a rehearsal subject to availability. You also get to pick his outfit for the day, and he shares a link to images and videos he shoots on his phone. Couples start with a relaxed video call to see if the fit is right, and a booking fee then secures the date. Ryan arrives early to check the sound and works closely with your photographer, videographer and venue team. He has worked at Gold Coast venues including Braeside Estate and The Island, as well as hinterland estates such as Wynmère and The Bower. Send an enquiry to check your date.

What does the MC part of the package cover?

Can he be booked as an MC without the ceremony?
His published MC work sits inside the combined ceremony and MC package, and no MC-only package is listed. If you already have a celebrant, send an enquiry and ask whether he can look after the reception alone.
Are there extra charges on top of the package price?
The published price is the full package, and travel is the only possible extra. It applies to venues more than 150 kilometres on the round trip from Nerang, and you are told about it upfront before you book.
How is a wedding date secured?
You start with a relaxed video call to talk through your plans and check you are a good fit. If you decide to go ahead, a booking fee invoice is sent, and your date is locked in once that fee has been paid.
Does he bring sound equipment?
A PA system with bluetooth connectivity is part of the package. Ryan arrives early on the day to check the sound, music and microphones, so everything is ready to go before your guests take their seats.
