About Bonappetea
Bonappetea is a garden teahouse in Mudgeeraba built around high tea made in its own kitchen. The glasshouse-style rooms and covered garden areas make it a natural choice for baby showers, bridal showers and birthdays, and it also takes corporate functions and wakes midweek. Groups can choose from five private areas. Function Two and the private balcony suit smaller gatherings from 6 guests, Function One and the pavilion take a larger table, and the main teahouse can be screened off with curtains for up to 60. Private spaces depend on guest numbers, as bigger bookings get priority. The classic tier brings a buttermilk scone with jam and cream, patisseries, sandwiches and savoury bites, plus one drink. A mostly savoury version, a breakfast high tea and a smaller two-tier option sit alongside it, and children have their own stand. The menu changes with the seasons, and any high tea can be made vegan, gluten free or vegetarian for a small extra charge. Hosts can come in 30 minutes ahead to decorate, though confetti and glitter are not allowed. Groups of 15 or more are seated in either the morning or afternoon session. The venue is fully licensed and does not allow BYO, so send an enquiry with your date and numbers to find the right space.

How big a group can Bonappetea host privately?
Private areas start with spaces for as few as 6 guests and run through to the main teahouse, which takes up to 60. Bigger groups get priority for the private areas.
What does high tea cost?
The two-tier option is $44 a person with tea or coffee, the full high tea is $58 and the savoury deluxe is $67. Vegan, gluten free and vegetarian versions add $5.
Can we decorate our table or room?
Yes. Hosts can arrive 30 minutes before the booking to set up, and need to clear decorations within 10 minutes of finishing. Confetti and glitter are the only items ruled out.
Can we bring our own wine or champagne?
No, the teahouse is fully licensed and does not allow BYO. Each high tea includes a drink, and sparkling champagne can be added on the day for $12 a person.
When are the group seatings?
Groups of 15 or more and private areas use two seatings, either 10am or 10:30am in the morning, or 1pm or 1:30pm in the afternoon.
