About Lume Hire
Lume Hire is an event lighting company based on the Gold Coast, and it does not work like a pick-up hire shop. The crew brings the gear to your venue, installs and tests it before guests arrive, then comes back after the event to take it all down. Nobody on your side needs to touch a ladder or a cable tie. Festoon is the most-hired item, sold in three run lengths from 60m to 200m. The rest of the range covers fairy-light canopies, tree lighting, LED uplighting, stage wash, chandeliers, feature pendants, table centrepiece lighting and giant light-up marquee letters. Fixtures are waterproof rated and tested and tagged, which suits beachside ceremonies and open lawns, and freestanding poles solve sites that have nothing to rig from. For bigger briefs the same team handles lighting design, 3D stage renders, laser shows, projection mapping and AV integration, with operators running DMX, Resolume and TouchDesigner on the night. Colour can follow the run sheet, moving from a soft dinner setting to a full dance floor without anyone adjusting a switch. Weddings make up much of the work, along with galas, conferences, brand launches and milestone birthdays. Venues range from Surfers Paradise ballrooms and surf clubs to hinterland properties and backyards. Does Lume Hire set up the lighting or do I collect it?
The crew delivers the gear, rigs it and tests it on site before the event, then returns afterwards to pack it down. There is no warehouse pick-up, and the published prices already include install and packdown.
What does festoon hire cost?
A small 60m run with 60 bulbs is $895, a medium 120m run is $1,495 and a large 200m run is $1,945. Add-ons such as a dimmable controller or raised beams run from $145 to $200.
Can festoon go up at a site with nothing to tie it to?
Yes. Lume Hire carries freestanding rigging poles for lawns, paddocks and beachfront reserves, and it works out the rigging plan with you before the booking is locked in.
What happens to outdoor lighting if it rains?
The fixtures are waterproof rated and tested and tagged, so rain alone does not stop the event. Strong wind is the real limit, and the crew flags that early when a venue is exposed.
Can Lume Hire run a laser or projection show?
Yes. Single laser shows start at $845 with the rig, programming and a person to run it, and projection mapping starts at $1,445 for one surface. Both are run live by the crew.
