About Souths Sports Club
Souths Sports Club sits on Mortimer Road in Acacia Ridge, on the southside of Brisbane, beside the footy fields of Brandon Park. It is a community sports club with a bistro, bars and a busy events calendar, and there is plenty of parking on site. For functions the club offers four separate spaces that can be booked on their own or in combination. The Green Room is a timber bar room with Federation styling for up to 100 guests, and the Acacia Room next door shares that look and adds a full theatre stage, servery and dance floor for a similar number. Open the two rooms together and they become the Auditorium, which holds up to 500 standing guests. It is air conditioned with room to dance, and the club uses it as the stage for its larger, high-profile events. Smaller groups can use Astills, an intimate room for 20 to 50 people, while the Boardroom beside the Sports Bar seats 5 to 15 for meetings and training. Altogether the club can look after events from 10 guests up to 500. Catering comes from the club's own kitchen, chosen from its function food and beverage menus, and the head chef can adapt dishes for dietary needs or requests that aren't listed. The functions staff help with menu planning, table decorations, seating plans and beverage packages, and you are welcome to inspect the rooms before you book.
