About Gold Coast Tipis
Gold Coast Tipis gives an outdoor event its own distinctive shelter. Working from Molendinar, the team hires and installs giant tipis of Nordic design, made from weatherproof canvas and sustainable spruce pine, as a more characterful option than a standard marquee. The range runs from mini and naked tipis to single, double and triple katas, along with kung and canopy styles. A tipi can stand alone for a smaller group, or as many as six can be joined for a large crowd. The covers are optional, so a dry evening can go without canvas while a wet one stays sheltered. Lighting comes built in. Each kata installation includes festoons inside for dining, more festoons running out from the entrance, and fairy lights around the brim. Tiki torches, coloured spotlights in nearby trees and pendants from the apex can be quoted as extras. For private parties, the crew can set up in a backyard, on a private property or at a function venue, provided there is a large, fairly flat grassed area to peg into. Bring your own decorations or a stylist. Weddings are a large part of the work, from elopements to festival-style celebrations. Corporate clients use the tipis for welcome drinks and gala dinners on resort lawns, and sporting carnivals and festivals have also used them on the coast.
