About Rusty The Clown
Rusty The Clown is the main character of Stephen Hollis, a Surfers Paradise children's entertainer with more than 25 years of performing behind him. He comes to the party in clown make-up and full costume, ready to fill the time with tricks, twisted balloon shapes, painted faces, juggling and puppets, plus a good amount of silliness. Rusty can work from a stage or rove among the guests, so the format can follow the shape of the party. Younger children tend to enjoy the way things vanish and return during the magic, and the interactive comedy keeps parents laughing along too. Stephen also performs as Mr Egghead, a bright comedy magic show for children aged 3 to 13 that is especially suited to preschool and kindergarten groups. Each child gets a turn at feeling like the star, with puppets and tricks along the way. His other characters include Silver Steve, a living statue with looks such as a scarecrow and a policeman, plus Santa, a singing elf and Santa Bear for the Christmas season. Past appearances include Sea World, schools, child care centres, shopping centres, fetes, festivals and more than a thousand parties.
