About The Leichhardt Room @ The Alliance Hotel

The Alliance Hotel is a pub on Boundary Street in Spring Hill, on the edge of the Brisbane CBD. The hotel dates from 1864 and its current building from 1888, and it now spreads its bars, restaurant and function rooms over three levels. The Leichhardt Room holds the most guests of the hotel's four function spaces. Its walls show off the original 1888 brickwork, and French doors on every side let daylight in, with curtains on the balcony windows when a darker room is needed. The room holds up to 120 guests for a cocktail party, 100 seated, or around 35 in a conference layout. It has its own private bar, soundproof glass, a large projector, in-house sound, air conditioning and its own bathrooms. The venue suggests it for wedding ceremonies and receptions, cocktail parties and long dinners, as well as daytime corporate lunches and conferences. Smaller groups can look at the hotel's basement Mirror Room, The Actress and The Bishop Bar, or a wine cellar dining room for 14. Catering ranges from cocktail platters and sliders to a shared feasting menu of starters, roast meats, sides and dessert. Drinks can run as a basic, premium or superior package for two to four hours, with spirits as an add-on, or on consumption.

The feasting menu is $80 per person for two starters, one main, two sides and one dessert, or $100 per person for three starters, two mains, three sides and a dessert, for at least 10 guests.

Cocktail platters are $105 each, the antipasto platter $145, slider and sweet platters $75 each, and extra platters of fries or wedges $50. Day delegate packages are $45 per person for a half day and $80 for a full day, with a room hire fee that depends on the room and numbers.

Food

Feasting menus are served to share, with starters like corn chips and dips and cured meats, mains such as whole roasted porchetta, slow-cooked beef cheek and market fish, and desserts including brownies and a cheese board. Cocktail platters cover calamari, sausage rolls, beef kebabs, arancini and spring rolls, plus wagyu and chicken schnitzel sliders.

Gluten-free and dairy-free options are marked, and the team is open to bespoke menus and other dietary needs.

Beverages

The basic package is $40 per person for two hours, $55 for three and $70 for four, with house wine, beer, cider and soft drinks. The premium package is $55, $80 and $95, and the superior package is $75, $100 and $125.

Basic spirits add $10 to $20 per person and premium spirits $20 to $30. Drinks can also be charged on consumption, and arrival cocktails can be arranged on request.
