About Pig 'N' Whistle King George Square
Pig 'N' Whistle King George Square is a British-themed pub on King George Square, facing the City Hall clock tower in the Brisbane CBD. King George Square bus station is a few steps away and Central Station is an easy walk, so city guests can get there without a car. The pub mixes a traditional British interior with open-air seating, and functions can use three areas. The beer garden has a façade strung with fairy lights and takes up to 250 standing, which suits a late-afternoon birthday or an engagement party as the sun drops over the square. The alfresco area seats up to 150 at tables, which works for a birthday dinner, a work lunch or a sit-down Christmas meal. For something smaller, the restaurant room sits behind the wine cellar with a vertical garden outside the window and seats 45, a good fit for a private dinner or a small corporate group. Food comes from the pub's British-leaning kitchen. Cocktail functions are built from canapés priced per piece, from hummus croutes and prawn skewers to pulled pork sliders and fish and chip boats. Seated groups choose between two set menus with shared starters, alternate-drop mains and dessert. Drinks can run on a bar tab that you control, with a set limit, chosen drinks and a time window, or guests can buy their own at the bar. A tab can also be used to top up a minimum spend if one applies to your booking. The venue is fully licensed, so outside food and drinks are not allowed apart from a celebration cake, which carries a cakeage fee. A deposit and signed contract lock in the date, and the events team helps shape the menu and layout.
