About The Black Brisbane
The Black Brisbane is a converted warehouse on Collingwood Street in Albion. By day part of it runs as a neighbourhood coffee bar, and in the evenings the whole site is given over to private events. Inside, the main function area has high ceilings, exposed beams and rustic timber, with a fully stocked bar and room for a band, a DJ and a dance floor. Large pivoting doors open onto a courtyard dressed in greenery and mostly covered by an arbor, so events go ahead in wet weather, and firepits can be added in the cooler months. The hall and courtyard are hired together and suit up to 250 guests standing, 150 on casual seating or 100 at a formal sit-down dinner. A smaller private room, the Savour Room, holds up to 50 for intimate dinners and meetings. Catering is flexible, with canapés and grazing stations, sit-down caterers or local food trucks recommended by the venue. Drinks come from the in-house bar as a bar tab, a package or pay as you go, and the team will try to source a particular drink or cocktail with notice. The celebration package covers exclusive use from 5pm to 11pm for up to 100 guests, with furniture, styling pieces, coordination, set-up, pack-down and cleaning. It starts at $6,545 Monday to Thursday and $7,260 Friday to Sunday; send an enquiry to book.
