About The Bethnal

The Bethnal is a private event room on Byres Street in Newstead, set up by the brewing team whose small-batch brewery sits next door. It hosts weddings, private parties, Christmas functions, corporate events and product launches, and nothing else shares the room while you are there. The look is dark and industrial: polished concrete, an exposed ceiling, curved details and a floor-to-ceiling wall of oak barrels, which the brewery uses to age its wild and barrel-aged beers. Adjustable lighting and sound let you set the mood. The room takes up to 130 guests for a cocktail-style event or up to 90 seated. Cocktail furniture, long timber tables, black chairs, a green couch and extra barrels are all supplied and set up for you. Food comes from partner caterers Cuisine on Cue and Sorella, with canapés, feasting menus and sit-down options, or a casual station of Roman-style sourdough pizza with fries and sides. Drinks are the venue's strength, with six taps of fresh beer from next door, a wine list that includes collaboration wines, spirits and custom cocktails. Hosts can take a set package or build their own list. A private hire runs for five hours and includes a staffed private bar, a DJ booth, a surround sound system with Bluetooth and a microphone, and a drinks tasting for two. The room is wheelchair accessible, with street parking nearby and paid parking under Gasworks.

Wedding packages are priced for 40 guests, starting from $9,200 for the pizza-station package, $10,700 with deluxe canapés and drinks, and $13,100 for a seated feast. A reception-only package is quoted from $1,500 for 40 guests in a cocktail layout.

Food

Catering comes from Cuisine on Cue or Sorella, with canapé packages, share-style feasts of canapés, sides, mains and salads, and sit-down menus. A late-night Italian grazing option brings Roman-style sourdough pizzas, fries and sides.

Beverages

Six taps pour fresh beer from the brewery next door, and the wine list includes two collaboration wines made for the venue. Packages range from a signature list of five beers and four wines to a deluxe list of seven beers and nine wines.

Spirits, custom cocktails and champagne towers can be added, or you can build your own drinks list with the team.

Availability
