About Superordinary
Superordinary is a multi-arts space in a former industrial warehouse on MacArthur Avenue at Northshore Hamilton, right beside the Brisbane River. Resident artists keep studios here, and the building runs exhibitions, markets, club nights and festivals alongside private hire. The warehouse floor covers 1,700m², with the ceiling rising to 8.4 metres in the middle, and opens onto a 3,100m² outdoor courtyard with street art on its walls. Floor and courtyard are hired together as one site that holds up to 3,000 people standing. For seated events the floor takes up to 1,200 at long tables, 800 at rounds of ten or 1,800 in theatre rows. The room can be divided with drapes, container bars or freestanding gallery walls, and stages can go wherever the run sheet needs them. Weddings, corporate dinners, label launches, supper clubs and fashion runways have all used the space. Corporate layouts can include a stage with a screen and lectern, and the building has high-speed wifi and architectural wash lighting. A licensed bar is staffed by the venue, with drinks packages available, while food comes from catering partners or food and coffee trucks set up in the courtyard. Sound, lighting and DJ gear are kept in house and run by a production partner, though you are free to bring your own supplier. Events can run between 7am and 11pm. Hire is priced on request, so send an enquiry with your date and numbers for a quote.
