About Blackbird
Blackbird occupies two levels of the Riverside Centre on Eagle Street in the Brisbane CBD. Floor-to-ceiling glass and an outdoor terrace open onto a wide sweep of the Brisbane River, the Story Bridge and the Kangaroo Point cliffs. Upstairs is a modern Australian restaurant built around steak and seafood, with an open grill and a deep wine cellar, alongside a bar styled on the Roaring Twenties and Prohibition speakeasies. Downstairs is a dedicated event centre with its own bars. The event centre has two rooms that can be used apart or together. The Heritage Room takes up to 150 cocktail or 90 banquet, the Terrace Room adds a covered outdoor terrace and up to 200 cocktail, and combined as the Riverview Room they hold up to 450 standing or 260 seated. In the bar, the Gatsby Terrace and the Speakeasy Deck each suit 80 to 150 for cocktail events, booths seat eight to ten, and the whole bar can be hired for up to 300. Private dining runs from the Champagne Room for 12 to the Deco Room for 28 and the Cellar Room, which seats 24 behind a glass wine wall. Canapé packages start at $50 per person for two hours, with grazing stations, platters, set menus and a shared steak menu for seated events. Drinks packages run two to four hours, or you can set up a consumption tab. The whole venue can be taken over for up to 900 guests cocktail style. An event coordinator handles each booking and sends a tailored proposal, so send an enquiry with your date and numbers.

Seated set menus range from $99 to $129 per person, the signature menu is $98 per person and the shared steak menu is $150 per person. Drinks packages start at $45 per person for two hours.
Food
Seated events can choose an alternate-drop or guest-choice set menu, or a family-style steak menu with a shellfish platter to start. Dietary options are marked throughout and the team caters for different needs.

What do canapé packages cost?
Canapé packages are $50 per person for two hours, $65 for three hours and $80 for four hours, each with a mix of canapés and substantial items. A minimum of 20 guests applies.
Are there private dining rooms?
Yes. The Champagne Room seats 12, the Chandelier Table 14 in a semi-private spot, the Cellar Room 24 seated or 35 for cocktails, and the Deco Room 28 with views over the CBD.
Can we hold a hens or bucks party here?
Yes. Blackbird offers spaces for hens and bucks parties of any size, along with bridal showers and rehearsal dinners in its private dining rooms.
What AV is available in the event centre?
The event centre has presentation facilities, three wireless handheld microphones, a central sound system with background music and motorised blackout blinds. The Cellar Room has its own TV screen and speakers.
