About sAme sAme
sAme sAme is a Thai restaurant on Ada Lane, just off James Street in Fortitude Valley. The kitchen cooks over hot coals and in searing woks, and the dining room has a busy communal table, a window bench and seats facing the open kitchen. For events there are three options. The private dining room sits on a balcony above the restaurant, looking down over Ada Lane, with guests seated across three tables for up to 30. Upstairs is LOS, a moodily lit cocktail bar on its own private balcony. Booked exclusively, it takes up to 80 guests standing, with a dedicated bar for the evening and canapés sent up from the kitchen downstairs. Groups that want everything can hire the main restaurant exclusively, seating up to 90. The team looks after each booking personally, with a banquet and drinks list chosen ahead of time. The set banquets are $89 or $130 per person and move through snacks, raw and cured dishes, salads, curries and dessert. The drinks list leans on cocktails built around local produce, a wide wine selection, and rare tequila and mezcal upstairs at LOS.
