About Rivershed

Rivershed is a heritage wharf building at Howard Smith Wharves, at 5 Boundary Street in the Brisbane CBD. It sits on the Brisbane River, looking across to the city skyline and up to the Story Bridge. Inside, much of the original character has been kept. Exposed timber beams and old wharf details frame a large open room that faces the water. The room is built for scale, taking up to 595 guests standing or 360 seated. Cocktail celebrations and gala dinners are its main uses, and both standing and seated layouts are catered for. All catering comes from the Howard Smith Wharves culinary team, whose event menus follow the seasons and lean on fresh local produce. Guests can be served shared feasting menus, plated courses or cocktail food, with optional food stations and extras on top. Outside catering and BYO drinks are not allowed, so food and drinks are arranged through the venue. Plant-based menus and GreenPower are offered for hosts who want a lower-impact event, and the precinct has its own car park. Rivershed takes weddings, end-of-year Christmas parties and corporate events. Send an enquiry with your date and guest numbers and the events team will be in touch.

Pricing

Rivershed does not publish a room hire fee or minimum spend. Pricing is quoted for each event once you send an enquiry with your date, guest numbers and preferred menu style.

Food

Catering is in-house only. Menus are seasonal and produce-focused, served as shared feasts, plated courses or cocktail food, with optional stations and add-ons. Plant-based menus are available.

Beverages

Drinks are supplied by the venue and BYO is not permitted. Beverage options are settled with the events team as part of your booking.

Fun place on the beautiful Brisbane River. Attended an event and the wait staff were wonderful, the food was delicious and the Story Bridge illuminated at night provided a classy backdrop for photos.
