About New Farm Bowls Club

New Farm Bowls Club sits on Brunswick Street right next to New Farm Park, and it has been on the same site since 1907. The 196 bus stops at the front gate and the New Farm Park CityCat terminal is a short walk away, so guests rarely need to drive. The clubhouse was rebuilt with a separate function room that takes groups from 6 up to 150. Inside, the club seats about 100, and the tables can be cleared to open up a dance floor once dinner is done. Outside there are four shaded areas with long tables looking over the greens, and 12 rinks for barefoot bowls. Many groups start with two hours on the green, with equipment and coaching supplied, before heading to the deck or inside. The club offers set packages for groups. The Barefoot Bowls and BBQ Feast pairs a session with a lawn-side BBQ, the Corporate Lawn and Lunch adds a premium BBQ buffet for team days, and hens and bucks groups get bowls, burgers and bubbles. The bistro handles all function catering, from à la carte meals to platters for groups of ten or more, so outside food is not allowed. A birthday cake is fine if your group brings its own paper plates, cutlery and napkins. Noise rules on the club's licence mean no live bands or personal speakers at private events. Music can be played through the club's own system in the function room.
