About Goldie's Tavern
Goldie's Tavern is a corner sports pub on Merivale Street in South Brisbane, at the West End end of the precinct. Inside it's timber, booths, pool tables and walls of screens, and outside there's a green, partly covered beer garden. There are four function areas, all semi-private. The Sideline is a covered outdoor terrace and the roomiest of them, taking up to 200 standing or 150 seated. The Annex spreads across indoor and outdoor areas with its own bar and several large screens, holding 130 standing or 80 seated. The Garden is the beer garden, with 50 seated or 100 standing and easy access to the indoor bar. The Clubhouse is the indoor dining room, set up for seated dinners of around 110 or a cocktail-style event, and it suits corporate groups as well as birthdays. Food comes as share platters, from party pies and sausage rolls to yum cha, charcuterie, wings and sweets, or as a two or three course seated menu served alternate drop. The kitchen marks low-gluten, low-dairy, vegetarian and vegan options. Drinks can be a classic, premium or deluxe package for two to four hours, a bar tab with a limit you set, or a cash bar. You can bring your own cake with no cakeage, and tidy decorations are fine. The pub hosts milestone birthdays including 18ths and 21sts, hens and bucks parties, work functions and Christmas parties. Drinks packages are $48 to $75 per person (classic), $59 to $87 per person (premium) and $71 to $98 per person (deluxe), depending on whether they run for two, three or four hours.
Food
The seated menu offers two choices per course, with dishes such as pork belly, chicken satay skewers, grilled rump steak, roast chicken supreme, seared salmon, lemon curd tart and chocolate brownie. Low-gluten, low-dairy, vegetarian and vegan options are marked.
Beverages
Instead of a package, you can run a bar tab with a limit that can be reviewed during the night, or keep it a cash bar.

Are the function spaces private?
All four spaces are semi-private areas within the pub. The Annex comes closest to a private room, with its own bar away from the main bar areas.

Yes. The pub takes 18th and 21st birthday parties, along with hens and bucks parties. The events team can suggest the right space and packages for the group.
What drinks packages are there?
The classic package is $48 per person for two hours, $61 for three and $75 for four. The premium package runs $59 to $87 per person and the deluxe $71 to $98, or you can set up a bar tab or let guests buy their own.
Can we bring a cake or decorations?
Yes. Cakes are welcome and there is no cakeage fee. Decorations are fine as long as they aren't messy and don't get in the way of other guests.
