About Boom Boom Room

Boom Boom Room is a basement restaurant and cocktail bar on Elizabeth Street in the Brisbane CBD. It sits in the former Queensland Government Savings Bank, a heritage-listed building, and plays up the golden age of glamour with moody colours and luxe furnishings. The menu is modern Asian, drawing on Japan, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Korea and Indonesia, with dishes cooked over a robatayaki grill in the open kitchen. Live entertainment and theatrical cocktails give the room a supper club feel at night. Smaller groups have several private and semi-private options. The Oulton Table seats seven, the Trumpet Room fits 21 seated or 30 standing around a statement Rex dining table, and The Vaults seat 18 behind the original bank vault doors, though they are not available on Friday or Saturday nights. The Banker's Lounge seats up to 32 for group dining beneath stained-glass tiles, with a cocktail corner for 50. For a bigger event, exclusive hire of the whole venue takes 110 seated or up to 280 cocktail style. Function food comes as a canapé package from $55 per person or a shared banquet from $79 per person, both for groups of 20 or more. Drinks packages run for two, three or four hours, and arrival cocktails can be designed around a theme or colour scheme. The venue asks for smart casual dress and is wheelchair accessible through the neighbouring hotel building. Send an enquiry with your date and numbers to start planning.
