About The Vita Nova
The Vita Nova is a working photography and film studio on Norman Street in Woolloongabba. When it is not being used for shoots, the warehouse is hired out as an event space for weddings, private parties and brand events. The main floor covers about 300 square metres, with ceilings that rise to around 7 metres. A large curved cyclorama wall and an overhead light box sit at one end, so the room can be lit softly or dramatically depending on the event. Set up for a stand-up party, the space takes up to 350 guests. It seats 100 for a sit-down dinner and 150 in theatre-style rows for a presentation or launch. There is no fixed stage, but the floor can be arranged for a band or DJ, a portable stage can be organised, and a backyard area is available for entertaining. The venue runs a bar and café area, and its preferred caterers look after food and can also arrange the drinks. A partner caterer manages weddings and can take care of styling, and you are free to bring your own florist, photographer and entertainment. The studio was designed as a blank canvas, so decorations are welcome as long as nothing damages the walls or floor. A green room and makeup area are on hand for wedding parties or presenters. There is a ramp at the entrance, accessible bathrooms and free Wi-Fi throughout. On-site parking is limited to a few cars, with street parking nearby. Send an enquiry for a quote and a tour.

How many guests can The Vita Nova hold?
Up to 350 guests for a cocktail-style event, 150 seated theatre-style and 100 for a sit-down dinner.
Can we have our wedding ceremony and reception there?
Yes. The studio can host both, and the space can be turned around from a ceremony set-up to a reception. There are no fixed wedding packages, so each wedding is quoted on its own.
Who does the catering?
The venue works with preferred caterers who can also arrange drinks, and a partner caterer handles weddings and styling. Outside caterers may be possible when an event planner is involved.
Can we have a band or DJ?
Yes. There is no built-in stage, but the floor can be set up for live music or a DJ and a portable stage can be arranged. Being in a mixed-use area, noise limits apply later in the evening, so talk through your plans when you enquire.
Is the venue accessible?
Yes. There is a ramp into the building and the bathrooms are set up for guests with limited mobility.
