About The Prince Alfred Hotel
The Prince Alfred Hotel, known locally as the PA, is a family-owned pub on Brisbane Road in Ipswich. Under one roof it runs Char'd steakhouse, Tap'd craft beer bar, Plantations café, a cocktail bar, a bottle shop and a gaming room. Functions can go in the hotel's own dedicated rooms or in its restaurants and bars. The Fountain Room is the formal option, set up in photos with long clothed tables for seated dinners, and Chill'd is a cocktail bar suited to stand-up parties. Char'd, the steakhouse, seats 250 and can be booked privately for a large dinner. Tap'd, Plantations and the cocktail bar can also be hired out, and groups dining in the restaurants or bars order from the regular menu. Char'd focuses on local produce, steaks from the grill and wines and craft beers matched to the food. Tap'd adds burgers, calamari and hand-stretched pizzas, and a function platters menu is available for events. The hotel hosts weddings, engagements, corporate functions, sit-down dinners and birthday celebrations, from relaxed gatherings to black tie. Daytime events run from 10am to 4pm and evening events from 5pm to 11pm. A functions coordinator works through each booking and can show you the rooms before you commit.
