About The Montague Hotel
The Montague Hotel, known locally as The Monty, is a family-owned pub where Montague Road meets Kurilpa Street in West End. Inside there is a restaurant, a central bar with beer tanks overhead, a sports bar and a big wall mural painted by local artist Stewart Shuker. Upstairs, the Zephyr Bar runs its own list of handmade cocktails and share plates under a roof that opens to the sky. The pub promotes its function areas for birthdays and other celebrations. The Kurilpa Deck looks over leafy Kurilpa Street and seats 15 to 22 at a banquet table. For a stand-up event it holds 20 to 30 on the deck alone, or up to 60 once the neighbouring indoor area is added, with fans, heaters and clear blinds. The Courtyard on Montague is an open-air space at street level with an awning that extends for shade. It takes 20 to 45 guests in its larger section and 15 to 20 in the smaller one, seated or standing. For a big night the whole hotel can be closed to the public for up to 500 guests, including the deck, the courtyard and the full interior, with air conditioning, TV access and a pool table. A minimum food and drink spend may apply when a space is set aside for you. Catering ranges from rotisserie share menus and a plated two-course menu to platters for 15 to 120 guests. The Kurilpa Deck seats 15 to 22 and holds up to 60 standing with the indoor area beside it. The Courtyard on Montague takes 20 to 45, and the whole venue can be hired for up to 500 at a cocktail event.
How much are the function menus?
The plated two-course menu is $40 per person and includes a glass of bubbles on arrival, with dessert for an extra $10. Rotisserie share menus are $55 per person for three courses and $65 for four, and the steak share menu is $75.
Can we do a stand-up party with finger food?
Yes. Platters run from $75 to $165 each and include dips, gyozas, lamb koftas, mini pizzas, sliders, sushi and cheese, and they suit functions of 15 to 120 guests.
Is there a deposit or minimum spend?
A non-refundable deposit of 20% of the minimum spend and a credit card guarantee secure the booking. A minimum food and drink spend may apply for a dedicated space, final numbers are due 14 days out, and payment is due ten days before.
Can we decorate the space?
Your own decorations and styling are welcome once agreed with the team, but no candles, confetti or anything stuck to the walls. Balloons, tablecloths, heating and a projector and screen can be arranged as extras.

Zephyr Bar is fantastic. They’ve done a wonderful job creating a unique space with a great atmosphere, the retractable roof really adds to it. Food was superb. Great spot for a date or birthday!!
