About Southbank Beer Garden
Southbank Beer Garden sits on Stanley Street Plaza in South Brisbane, an open-plan pub spread over two levels among landscaped gardens. From its decks you look across the Brisbane River to the city, with the South Bank lagoon beach just below. There are six function areas to choose from. The River Room is the main private space, holding 100 for cocktails or 50 seated, with its own staffed bar, private bathrooms, air conditioning and two covered balconies. The Atrium takes 40 among vertical plant walls and opens onto the main bar, while the open-air Live Bar holds 70 and has live music from Friday to Sunday. The Sundeck fits 30 under market umbrellas, and the Terrace (30) and Street Deck (40) are semi-private balconies set up for seated meals. For bigger occasions the ground floor alone takes up to 300 people, and hiring the whole venue lifts that to 400. Weddings and engagement parties, milestone birthdays, galas, charity fundraisers and staff parties all run here. Function food is built around canapés, with four or six choices, premium canapés, sliders, sweet bites and grazing platters. Drinks can run as a house or luxe package, a capped bar tab or a cash bar, and every function area carries a food and beverage minimum spend. Any booking of ten or more people is treated as a function. Send an enquiry and the events team will come back to talk through the area, menu and drinks.

How many guests can Southbank Beer Garden hold?
Up to 400 with exclusive use of the whole venue, or up to 300 on the ground floor alone. Individual areas range from 30 on the Sundeck or Terrace to 100 in the River Room.
Which area suits a private party?
The River Room is the fully private option, with its own staffed bar, private bathrooms, air conditioning, AV gear and two covered balconies facing the river and city. The Sundeck, Terrace and Street Deck are semi-private, and the Atrium and Live Bar are open-air areas beside the main bar.
What do the function menus cost?
Canapé packages are $31 per person for four choices or $39 per person for six, and extra canapés can be added at $6 per person each. Grazing platters for 10 to 15 guests are $125, and cakeage is $25.
What drinks packages are available?
The house package is $50, $60 or $70 per person for two, three or four hours, and the luxe package is $62, $72 or $82 per person. Spirits can be added for $15 per person. Capped bar tabs and a cash bar are also options, although cash bar sales don't count towards the minimum spend.
Is there AV for speeches and presentations?
Yes. The River Room comes with a wireless microphone, a sound system with AUX input and two smart screens.

Fantastic spot to relax. I sat here for hours eating and drinking. Food is fresh and service by the staff is nice. Beauty spot nearby the beach. Most of the seats are in shade. Doesn’t get any better!
