About Point Lookout Bowls Club
Point Lookout Bowls Club, known locally as the Bowlsie, sits on Dickson Way at Point Lookout on North Stradbroke Island. It has been a gathering place for the island community for more than 50 years, and visitors are welcome alongside members. Functions centre on the Banksia Room, a private room with its own separate entrance and plenty of natural light. Tables and seating are set up for as many as 120 guests. The room comes with a sound system, a dance floor, a big-screen TV with HDMI and USB inputs, free WiFi and a mobile whiteboard. That makes it work for a seated dinner and dancing as well as a presentation or meeting. The club's kitchen, The Curlew Kitchen, handles catering, with full packages available for functions. Its everyday menu runs from bowls club classics to local seafood. Drinks can be served from a private bar in the room or from the club's main bar, and beverage packages can be arranged. Groups can also book a session of barefoot bowls on the greens as part of the event. The club says it hosts plenty of birthdays, corporate events, Christmas parties, hens and bucks groups. Send an enquiry and the functions team will help shape a package around your numbers.

Nice enough venue to catch up with friends but the food was below average. To call boxed frozen fish, crumbed snapper and charge club prices is a sure way to receive bad reviews. Portion sizes were good but that’s about…
