About Mulga Bill's
Mulga Bill's is an all-day restaurant and bar on Alice Street in the Brisbane CBD, right beside the Botanic Gardens. It sits above the Brisbane River with the Story Bridge and the Kangaroo Point Bridge in view, and it serves breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days. The whole restaurant can be booked for an event. Fully hired, it holds about 80 guests seated or 100 standing, and the function pack also sets out smaller areas inside, along the river edge and on the terrace for groups that don't need the full room. The dining room is open on its sides, with timber tables, banquettes, plenty of greenery and a long railing over the water. Out the front, a paved terrace with umbrellas and stools works well for a standing crowd, and the layout is adjusted to suit each booking. Food comes from function menus with a Mediterranean and Italian lean. The canapé packages run for two hours, with a classic option at $52 per person and a premium one at $65 per person, while the Scenic Route banquet brings dips, scallops, saganaki, octopus, paella, striploin and dessert to share at $84 per person. Drinks can be added as a two-hour package of prosecco, rosé, white and red wine, lager, pale ale and a few cocktails, or a simpler entry package of house wine and tap beer. Each group is looked after by its own waiter for the event. The venue asks for final numbers and details a week ahead, and small decorations such as flowers and balloons are welcome.
