About Havana @ Summa House
Summa House is an open-air bar on McLachlan Street in Fortitude Valley, laid out like a sprawling backyard with palms, festoon lights and a string of separate party areas. From early evening on weekends it turns into an outdoor nightclub. Havana is one of its larger private spaces and runs over two floors. The lower level has picnic tables and a bar of its own, staffed by a dedicated bartender for your group. Upstairs is a viewing deck that looks back across the rest of the venue, and Little Havana, a seated nook for around 25 on Level 2, comes with the booking. In total Havana takes 50 guests for cocktails or 35 seated, and it can spill onto the neighbouring Cool Deck when you need more room. Food is built for sharing. Smaller groups can pick platters or grazing, while larger functions choose from canapés, meals or all-inclusive packages, with final selections made two to three weeks out. Drinks run on a bar tab or a set drinks package, and cocktails are a big part of the menu. Security, bar staff, sound, festoon lighting, wristbands and all glassware and crockery come with every function. Functions run in two sessions, 1pm to 5pm or 6pm to 10pm, after which the space reopens to the public. Small table decorations such as balloons are welcome, but confetti is not.

Frequently asked questions
How many people fit in Havana?
Havana holds up to 50 guests standing or 35 seated across its two levels. Little Havana, a seated area on Level 2, is included, and the Cool Deck next door can be added for a bigger group.
What is the minimum spend for Havana?
The minimum spend starts at $3,500 and goes towards food and drinks. If the total spend falls short, the gap is charged as venue hire and is not refunded.
How do bookings and deposits work?
You choose a space, send your event details and receive an estimate. A $500 deposit secures the date, or 10% for functions over $10,000, and final numbers, menus and payment are due 14 days before the event.
What times can we book?
There are two function sessions each day, from 1pm to 5pm or from 6pm to 10pm. Once your session ends, the space opens back up to the public or to the next booking.
Can we bring a cake or our own DJ?
Cakes are welcome for a $30 cakeage fee, which covers refrigeration, plates, cutlery and cleaning. Outside DJs and bands are not allowed for private functions; the venue plays its own curated music.
