About Fiction Bar & Restaurant
Fiction Bar & Restaurant sits on the waterfront at Raby Bay Harbour in Cleveland, with its dining room and deck facing the marina. It trades as a restaurant and cocktail bar from late morning, and a separate functions team looks after private events. There are three spaces to choose from. The Function Room is the main one, with marina views, a private bar staffed by its own bartender and access to audio visual equipment. It seats up to 80 at banquet or trestle tables and holds up to 100 for a cocktail party. The Deck Area is a covered space over the water for up to 50 standing guests, built for drinks as the light fades. The Marina Lounge, beside the main bar, takes up to 30 with sofas, high bars and window seats looking across the harbour. Function food runs from canapés ordered by the tray and share platters through to seated two or three-course menus, an Asian feast and a buffet. Set menus start at $60 per person for the buffet, and each menu has a minimum number of guests. The bar pours cocktails, wine and tap beer, and the Function Room bar is staffed just for your group. Rooms are booked for five hours, and decorations are welcome with management's approval. The venue hosts anniversaries, engagements, birthdays, conferences and product launches. Canapés are priced by the tray, from $75 for 25 pieces, and platters range from $80 for a fruit platter serving about 25 to $850 for the Captain's Table, which feeds around 40. A room hire fee or deposit secures the booking, but the amount isn't published.

How many guests can the Function Room hold?
The Function Room takes up to 100 guests for a cocktail party, or up to 80 seated at banquet or trestle tables. It can also be set theatre style for 80 or as a boardroom for 35.
What do the function menus cost?
Seated menus are $65 per person for two courses or $75 per person for three, with a minimum of 25 guests. The Asian feast is $65 per person for 20 or more, and the signature buffet is $60 per person for 30 or more. Canapés, sliders and share platters can also be ordered by the tray.
How does booking a function work?
Tentative bookings are held for 14 days. To confirm, the signed booking agreement is returned with the room hire or deposit, and the room is yours for five hours, with any extension approved by the functions team beforehand.
Can we decorate the space?
Yes, with management's approval in advance. Nothing can be fixed to walls or surfaces with nails, tape or adhesive, and confetti and table scatters aren't allowed.
Can I bring my own cake?
Yes, you're welcome to bring a cake for your celebration. There is also plenty of parking on site at the harbour.
