About Bulimba Bowlo
Bulimba Bowlo is the everyday name for the Bulimba Memorial Bowls and Community Club, a not-for-profit club on Quinn Street in Balmoral. It started life in 1966 as the Balmoral Heights Memorial Bowls Club, and its profits go back into the facilities. Barefoot bowls is free, and the club lends the bowls. All ages and abilities are welcome on the green, and a bigger group can have a rink held for them. Cold beer is poured at the bar, and bar food is available while you play. For functions, the club offers a function room, outdoor decks and a pavilion. The function room seats 80 and holds about 120, with a projector and surround sound. A full deck takes about 80, a half deck about 30, and the pavilion between the greens seats 60 to 80. The club suggests itself for birthday parties, Christmas parties, retirement send-offs and morning teas, and it pitches the greens to employers as a team-building outing. Meetings, workshops and presentations also use the function spaces. Catering can be arranged. Sundays bring free bowls, a free jumping castle and music on the deck. Send an enquiry with your date and numbers for a function quote.
