About Aria Cruises

Aria Cruises is a family business founded in 2014 by Robert and Louise Hartog, sailing out of Cleveland on the Redlands Coast. Louise runs the company and Robert skippers the boats, bringing more than 25 years of marine experience and plenty of local knowledge of Moreton Bay. The main boat, Aria, is a Seawind 1160 Resort sailing catamaran that takes up to 40 passengers with three crew. Its twin hulls keep the ride steady, the open decks and shaded seating leave room to mingle, and there are two toilets on board. The company's first boat, Dream On, is also available for private bookings and lets groups bring their own drinks. A private charter can be a day on the bay, with stops at island beaches for swimming, the aqua mat, stand-up paddleboarding and boom netting, or a twilight sail to watch the sun go down. Aria carries a licensed bar where you can run a tab, and the crew serves morning tea, a buffet lunch and afternoon tea, or canapés at sunset. The sound system plays your own music, and you can add decorations or a proposal sign, though balloons stay ashore. The team names birthdays, hens and bucks parties, engagements, anniversaries, family gatherings, corporate functions and private Christmas parties among the charters it hosts. A 25% deposit secures the date, and the crew will reschedule if the weather turns.

Pricing

On Aria, a private charter for a group of up to 30 costs $2,500 for two hours, $3,200 for five hours Monday to Thursday and $3,800 for five hours Friday to Sunday. Catering packages and drinks are extra, and a 25% deposit confirms the booking.

Food

Aria's menu covers morning tea of lamingtons, muffins and fruit, a buffet lunch of prawns, roast chicken, ham, pastrami, salads and bread rolls, and afternoon tea of cheese, crackers and cold meats, with canapés on sunset sails. Groups may also bring their own food, though there is no cooking or cooling for guests.

Beverages

Aria is a licensed vessel, so BYO is not allowed and drinks come from the onboard bar on a tab or a custom drinks package, with no red wine to protect the decks. Dream On, the second catamaran, allows groups to bring their own drinks.

Wharfs & Availability

Charters board at the public pontoon in Raby Bay Harbour Park, Cleveland, opposite the Raby Bay Marina and near the Cleveland train station. They sail Moreton Bay to island beaches such as Peel Island, with two-hour and five-hour charters available.

Frequently asked questions

How many guests can Aria Cruises take on a private charter?

Aria, the Seawind 1160 catamaran, takes up to 40 passengers plus three crew. Its published charter prices cover groups of up to 30, so larger groups should mention their numbers when they enquire.

Can we bring our own drinks on Aria Cruises?

Not on Aria, which is a licensed vessel with a bar where you can open a tab or order a custom drinks package. Groups who want to bring their own drinks can book the smaller catamaran, Dream On, instead.

What can guests do during an Aria Cruises charter?

Day charters stop at Moreton Bay island beaches, where guests can swim, lounge on the aqua mat, try stand-up paddleboarding or ride the boom net off the back of Aria. Evening charters focus on the sunset sail.

Is food included on an Aria Cruises charter?

Aria offers a catering menu of morning tea, a buffet lunch with prawns, roast chicken, ham and salads, and afternoon tea. You can also bring your own food, and a celebration cake is welcome on private charters.

What happens if the weather is poor on the day?

The crew watches wind, tides and storm forecasts closely, and if the skipper judges conditions to be uncomfortable or unsafe they will contact you to reschedule the charter.
