About The Stable Studio
The Stable Studio sits on Friday Hut Road in Binna Burra, in the hinterland behind Byron Bay. The venue is a set of horse stables first built in 1919, restored from a shed that once held only farm machinery and firewood, at the heart of a 66-acre property called Loehill. The farm is lush and green, edged by Byron Creek, with horses and cattle grazing in the paddocks. There are wide flat lawns for ceremonies and gatherings, smaller corners in the fruit orchard and under old trees, and a rustic French-style patio leading into the orchard. Indoors, the stables work as a flexible blank canvas, and the former hay shed, called the Gallery, has polished concrete floors and exposed timber beams. It suits an intimate sit-down meal or a ceremony under cover. Event hire runs for a full day from 7am to 7pm for up to 50 guests, with 20 timber patio chairs included. It suits brand launches, campaigns, small lunches and community events. Micro weddings take up to 40 guests and include planning and coordination by the venue's partner planner plus two nights in the Stable Cabin. There is no kitchen on site and no in-house catering, so hosts bring their own caterer, who works from an undercover set-up area with power, cold running water, a large fridge and tables. No PA or sound system is supplied. Guests arrive by minibus, as parking is limited to six cars, and everyone departs by 10pm. Send an enquiry to check dates.

Legals Only elopements run Monday to Thursday and cost $1,150 or $3,000 depending on the level. A non-refundable 10% deposit secures the date, with the balance due one month before.

How many guests can The Stable Studio hold?
Events take up to 50 guests and micro weddings up to 40. The Legals Only elopement package allows the couple plus two witnesses.
What does event hire cost and what is included?
Full-day event hire is $950 and covers use of the stables and grounds for 12 hours, from 7am to 7pm, plus 20 foldable timber patio chairs. Pack-up has to be finished by 7pm, and the on-site cabin is not included but can be booked separately.
Can we bring our own caterer?
Yes, you need to. The venue has no kitchen and does not provide catering, but there is a small undercover area for caterers with power, cold running water, a large fridge and tables.
What are the music rules and finish time?
Live music can play until 7pm, and a DJ or playlist until 9:45pm. All guests must leave by 10pm under council rules. The venue does not supply a PA or sound system.
How do guests get there?
Guests must arrive by minibus, since there are only six parking spaces on site. There is one toilet, and larger groups are encouraged to hire extra portable toilets.
