About Frida's Field

Set on Booyong Road in Nashua, Frida's Field is a working 120-acre farm run on regenerative lines, in the Byron hinterland, with its own restaurant and event space. The family behind it runs Angus-Wagyu cattle, a quarter-acre organic market garden and a food forest orchard, and much of what guests eat comes from the property. Because the farm is entirely private, an exclusive event has the place to itself. The restaurant is a big open-plan barn that opens onto a grass terrace looking out over the hills, with a full commercial kitchen and the staff, furniture and tableware to serve 150. Smaller groups can book into the long-lunch service on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Birthdays, hens parties and engagement celebrations of 20 to 40 guests can take a private outdoor dining area, while other groups share in the main feast. The kitchen cooks contemporary country food, much of it over a large recycled-brick fireplace, and menus change roughly every six weeks with the harvest. Lunch is a shared set menu of a farm tasting plate, a pair of starters, one main served with three sides, then dessert, in omnivore or vegetarian versions. Exclusive events can add roaming canapés, grazing tables, cocktail-style gatherings, presentations, cooking classes, farm tours and tree planting. The barn has wi-fi, three-phase power with a backup generator, 30 car parks and space for a bus to turn. The venue is fully licensed, with drinks packages or drinks charged on consumption, and outside alcohol is not allowed. Micro weddings run from 10am to 4pm, with vows before lunch and the restaurant's covered verandah as the wet-weather fallback.
