About The Mez Club

The Mez Club is a Mediterranean restaurant and bar on Jonson Street in the middle of Byron Bay, trading since 2016. Its look borrows from Moroccan design and the Greek Islands, with whitewashed walls, carved timber shutters, cushioned banquettes and a round fireplace in the dining room. The kitchen cooks shared plates that draw on Morocco, southern France, Italy and Spain. Expect dips with flatbread, crispy halloumi with smoked honey, charcoal-grilled prawns and souvlaki, and lamb cooked slowly for twelve hours and finished with chermoula. Groups of ten or more eat from a set menu. Feed Me costs $70 per person, and Feed Me More adds prawns and chicken souvlaki for $100 per person; both suit parties of up to 40, with tables held for two and a half to three hours. For 30 or more guests, a cocktail-style party works from a canapé menu priced by the piece, with a $50 per person minimum. Boards of charcuterie or dips can be added, and each guest can be met with a pre-ordered welcome drink. Upstairs, The Souk is a separate space used for group bookings and functions, and for cocktails before or after dinner. A $500 deposit holds the date, final numbers and menu choices are due a week ahead, and an agreed minimum spend applies. Celebration cakes from outside are welcome for a small fee per guest. Send an enquiry with your date and numbers to start planning.
