About Loft Byron Bay
Loft Byron Bay is a restaurant and cocktail bar sitting one floor above the corner of Jonson Street and Bay Lane, close to the sand at Main Beach. The fit-out is bright and coastal, with woven pendant lights, white timber and big windows that look out towards the water. For functions the floor splits into several areas: three terraces, a private dining room and the bar. The Terrace takes up to 110 standing, the Ocean Terrace seats 52, the Town Terrace and the Loft Bar each suit around 30 standing, and the private dining room seats 30 or holds 35 standing. Groups can use one area, join several together or hire the whole place, which holds up to 230 standing or 150 seated. The venue says it caters for groups from 15 to 200, so it works for a small birthday dinner as well as a large work party. Seated groups choose a share-style set menu, with three levels running from olives, scallops and calamari through to aged sirloin, oysters and sliders. Stand-up functions are built from canapés and more filling pieces such as sliders, prawn toast, fish tacos and baked gnocchi. Drinks can run on a bar tab, guests can pay for their own through an iPad system, or the functions team can put together a drinks package. Hens groups have their own three-hour bottomless lunch that bundles a set menu with spritzes, wine, beer and soft drinks. The team keeps a list of preferred local suppliers for flowers, cakes, balloons, styling and audio-visual, so a room can be dressed for the occasion.
