About Covent Garden
Covent Garden is a gin bar and restaurant on Boundary Street in West End, with a leafy courtyard out the back and a dark, speakeasy-style lounge inside. The bar stocks more than 700 gins, many of them Australian craft labels, and the kitchen is entirely gluten free and coeliac friendly. Functions are spread across four areas, each with access to its own bar and none carrying a room hire fee. The Royal Albert takes in the whole courtyard, upper and lower decks together, for up to 120 standing or 68 seated. The Royal is the upper courtyard on its own, holding 90 standing or 50 seated. The Houlburn is a large verandah looking over the street, suited to 50 standing or 24 seated. The Albert is the lower courtyard, semi-private and covered against bad weather, for 30 standing or 18 around a banquet table. Each booking gives four hours of exclusive use of the chosen area. From Sunday to Friday there is no minimum spend at all, while Saturday nights carry one that runs from $800 for the Albert up to $5,800 for the full courtyard. The two courtyard options can have a data projector, a big screen, their own audio zone and a wireless microphone at no extra cost, and the Houlburn has a large LED TV instead. Bands and DJs can be organised through your coordinator, and you are welcome to bring decorations and a cake. Food and drinks are put together to suit the group and the budget, with a bar tab as the usual way to run drinks. Send an enquiry to book.
