Flowers by Forrest is the floristry business of Anna Forrest, who works from The Gap in Brisbane's west. She has worked with flowers for around two decades and has focused on weddings and events for more than 15 years, so she knows how much a calm, well-organised day means to a couple. For weddings, Anna covers the bridal party – bouquets for the bride and bridesmaids, buttonholes, corsages and flowers for flower girls and page boys – as well as the ceremony and reception: arbours, aisle decoration, petals, arrangements and centrepieces. You start by sketching out your colours, preferred blooms and budget, and she replies with a tailored proposal, followed by a phone chat or a face-to-face meeting. Numbers and ideas can shift until four weeks before the date. The business also decorates functions. Anna can travel to your venue to create table flowers and installations for parties, balls, exhibitions and school formals, with vases, candelabras, photo backdrops and candles available on hire. Hired pieces come with drop-off and collection, and there is nothing to wash before they go back. On the day, her team handles the arranging, delivery and set-up, and works with your venue and other suppliers so the styling comes together smoothly. Yes. Five-arm candelabras about 80 cm tall come in six styles in silver or gold for $30 each, with dinner, tea light, pillar or battery candle options at extra cost. Delivery, set-up and pick-up can be quoted.
Does Anna decorate events other than weddings?
She styles parties, balls, exhibitions and school formals, travelling to your venue with table arrangements, installations and hire pieces such as vases, photo backdrops and candles to suit your theme.
Is there a ceremony arbour available to hire?
A bamboo wedding arbour, with or without an organza curtain, hires for $100 over three days, and a sturdier modern frame is $150. White pedestal and urn sets are $40 per set for a weekend.
