About Riseabove Ceremonies
Riseabove Ceremonies is Aaron Mepstead, a Commonwealth-registered civil marriage celebrant working from Leichhardt in Ipswich. He describes himself as a down-to-earth Aussie celebrant. His whole approach is about cutting out the awkward, overly formal parts of a ceremony and filling the space with real stories and relaxed humour. Couples choose from three wedding tiers. The registry-style option is a short ceremony with the required legal wording, two witnesses and a small group of up to six people, usually held at his Leichhardt office or a nearby park or café. The custom tier adds a personalised script built around your story, a PA system with wireless microphones, a signing table and a welcome sign, with Aaron arriving well before the start. The top tier goes further, with unlimited script revisions, help practising your vows and a full rehearsal at the venue. Behind the scenes, Aaron takes care of the Notice of Intended Marriage, the certificates and lodging everything with Births, Deaths and Marriages after the day. He also holds current first aid training and brings a kit with him, which he sees as part of looking after you and your guests. He also conducts vow renewals, commitment ceremonies and naming ceremonies. What is included in the cheapest ceremony?
The registry-style tier covers the Notice of Intended Marriage, the minimum legal wording and vows, signing of the certificates and registration, for a group of four to six including your two witnesses, kept to about 10 to 15 minutes.
Do weekend weddings cost more?
Yes. The listed package prices apply Monday to Thursday. Friday and Sunday ceremonies add $100, Saturdays add $150, and public holidays carry a higher surcharge.
How far will Aaron travel without a fee?
Travel within 40 kilometres of his Leichhardt office is included, or 50 kilometres for the top tier. Beyond that, a per-kilometre fee applies to the extra return distance.
Does Aaron supply a sound system?
The custom and top-tier ceremonies include his battery-powered PA with wireless microphones and Bluetooth music, so guests can hear the vows at outdoor and backyard weddings.
Is a rehearsal included?
A formal rehearsal is part of the top-tier ceremony. For the other packages it can be added as an optional extra, held on a weekday evening where possible.
