About Karolina Celebrant
Karolina Hews is a full-time marriage celebrant based at Rochedale on Brisbane's southside. Her ceremonies are built around the couple's own story rather than a stock script, with the aim of keeping things light, warm and genuinely enjoyable for the guests as well as the two of you. She offers three ceremony packages. Legals only is a short weekday wedding for the couple and two witnesses, a simple option for anyone who missed out on a registry date. The small wedding package suits up to 20 guests and still includes rings and vows. All The Bells is the full version: a catch-up over a cuppa, a personalised ceremony of around 25 to 30 minutes, help writing your vows, room for rituals, readings or a solo, and her own PA system with Bluetooth for your music. Karolina prepares and lodges the legal paperwork, presents a certificate on the day and turns up 45 minutes to an hour early to settle guests into their seats. She also works as a wedding MC, building the reception run sheet with you, liaising with the venue and suppliers, and introducing speeches, the first dance and the cake cutting. Swedish-born and happily married to an Australian, she can write a dual-language ceremony in Swedish and English, and she welcomes same-sex couples, kids and dogs in the ceremony. What is a legals-only wedding with Karolina?
It is a short ceremony of about five minutes, run Monday to Friday, with just the couple and two witnesses. Karolina guides and lodges the legal documents and hands over a presentation certificate.
How long does a full ceremony take?
Most of her personalised ceremonies last 25 to 30 minutes. The length shifts with the number of readings, rituals and family members you add, while a legals-only wedding takes about five.
Does travel cost extra?
Travel is included for weddings within 50 kilometres of Rochedale. For a location further out, mention it in your enquiry and Karolina will quote the travel separately.
Can Karolina also be our wedding MC?
Yes. As MC she prepares a reception run sheet with you, liaises with the venue, caterers and other suppliers, and hosts the announcements, speeches, first dance, cake cutting and bouquet toss.
